Family Health Training Institute Background

FHTI was established in 2008 by Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK) (formerly Family Planning Association of Kenya)with an aim of facilitating training in various areas of health for health service providers, school leavers and communities i and out of Kenya.

The Institute has an Extensive community network and collaboration with reputable national and international organizations.

The institute builds on the strenghts of FHOK which has over the years cut a niche in capacity building for individuals and organisations in Kenya and the region.

The Institute is linked to a network of FHOK facilities around the country that can provide technial supervision and practical experience.

Achievements of Family Health Training Institute

1. FHTI has offered short update training to a wide range of health and health-related professionals all over Kenya.

2. Conducted trainings in Meru, Nyeri, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu,Bondo, Siaya, Mombasa and Nairobi.

3. A total of 29 courses and trainings were conducted between 2008 and 2010.

4. Over 1200 participants who included Doctors, Clinical Officers, Nurses, Laboratory professionals and other diverse professionals were trained
